Registered Nurse Jobs in the Field of Dialysis

without comments

Nowadays, there are so many opportunities for nurses and it seems that the demand for them continues to grow. Dialysis is one particular field and this can be a demanding and exhausting position for many nurses.

Once you get working and in a routine, you’ll notice that a majority of the patients are going to be weekly ones that you see often. You’ll also find that your shift can last from 9-12 hours and you are going to be on your feet for an extended amount of time.

Your job can extend more than just working with patients since a lot of the clinics you are going to be working for are led by other RNs. You might have to schedule appointments and you might be filling patient charts as well. If you work in a larger facility there might be aides there for that type of work.

If you work in renal dialysis for example, you’ll need to learn about the water system. There might be equipment and machines that you need to learn how to use as well. You’ll be monitoring patients for signs of infection as well since dialysis can weaken your immune system.

Overall, this is a demanding job and while it may be for some, others may find it to be too difficult to adapt to.
