Required Qualifications For A Nursing Job
Provincial registration authorities are tasked with providing the application requirements for nurses. Generally, a nurse is required to study medical, surgical, obstetric, pediatric and psychiatric nursing skills. The field to study depends on the ability and interest in the course.
You cannot get to practice as a nurse under most of the main nursing levels without having completed studies, passed tests and awarded certificates in the nursing plan. You must also provide evidence of up to date safe nursing practice. This practice must be within the jurisdiction of the hospital in which you are applying for a nursing post.
Another requirement is the successful achievement of national nursing registration assessment. In order to be an efficient nurse, you must be able to communicate efficiently both in written and spoken English or French. You should also have registered or prove eligibility for registration in the area where you studied or practiced on internship, your nursing program.
Furthermore, an irrefutable proof of Canadian citizenship or approval from the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act must be provided in order for you to be allowed to practice nursing. An alternative to proof of citizenship is permanent residency. Finally, you must be a person of reputable character and fitness, to practice as mandated by the Declaration of Registration Requirements.
