What Are The Common Duties Of The Nurse?
The nurse is one of the most important people you will find in the hospital. He has exceptionally many duties, though most of it is geared towards the quick recovery of the patient. One of his first duties entails categorizing patients according to severity. If the problems are quite severe, the nurse will handle that particular patient immediately. Another duty for the nurse is to set up the IV package for the patients. These IVs will help patients keep some of their body parts hydrated or under medication. After the doctor has observed the patient, he will give the nurses instructions concerning the patient’s medication.
The nurse also has a duty of supporting the patient both emotionally and physically. The patient will usually be in an unstable state, and will constantly need the reassurance of the nurse in order to regain confidence. Physically, the nurse will take care of his transportation, either through the wheel chair, or through other form of transportation. He will also assist the patient in keeping his/her hygiene. Some nurses are also trusted enough to undertake some certain medical procedures. The patient may at times require dressing of a wound. If the nurse has enough experience, the doctor may entrust some of these duties to her.
