without comments

There are a number of medical facilities you can work in as a registered nurse nowadays. Nursing homes are one location where registered nurses are in high demand. There are a number of them worldwide and they are home to older people for the most part that can no longer care for themselves.

Nursing homes are facilities where most people just graduating nursing school start out. CNA’s often times begin working here as well until they decide to move on to bigger facilities. Patients in nursing homes typically suffer with dementia, Alzheimer’s, stroke, or other conditions that make it hard for them to care for themselves in their home.

As a RN you might have an administrative position in a nursing home which could include scheduling patient care, or could be scheduling duties to LPN’s and CNA’s. There are several nursing homes that will allow you to set a schedule that you prefer to work.

If you live in an area where there is a high demand for nurses in nursing homes, you will find you can make more money than if you were in a smaller town. RN jobs continue to rise and this can be beneficial for those looking to make a career change.
